BStartup, the business unit specializing in startups and scale-ups, was founded in 2013 to provide 360 ​​specialist banking and equity investment services to startups and scale-ups; thus becoming the leading service in Spanish banking for this type of company.

BStartup offers private banking services from offices to technology companies, managers specializing in startups, including access to certain financial products and its own risk circuit. Banco Sabadell currently has more than 4,200 startups and scale-up companies among its clients. In the Valencian Community, it has four specialist BStartup offices in Valencia, Alicante, Castellón and Elche.

Similarly, its activity in equity investment has led the bank to become one of the main investors in Spain in early-stage digital and technology companies. Between 10 and 12 startups from a wide range of industries with strong growth potential and scalable and innovative business models invest up to €150,000 per year. Although its investment focus has been ICT companies from any industry, it has launched two verticals in recent years: The first was BStartupHealth to invest in healthcare startups that had just shut down.

The aim is to invest in three projects at the pre-seed, seed or early stage stage with value propositions in these areas that can dedicate the investment mainly to validating technology/science and business. These calls allowed it to include companies such as Inbrain Neuroelectronics, Admit Therapeutics, Oxolife, Miwendo, Dive Medical, Gate2Brain, Thytech, TimeisBrain and Sycai Medical in its portfolio.

And it launched the first call for BStartupGreen in 2021. The latter, which will launch its third call in 2023, focuses specifically on investing in new companies that can facilitate the transition from technology or digitalization to a more sustainable world from the following four perspectives: Energy transition, Industry 4.0., Smart cities and circular economy. As a result of this special call, BStartup has invested in APlanet, AEinnova, MOA Foodtech, Wegaw, BiaPower, RIP Food and Dcycle.

Valencia Digital Summit 2022 will position the city as the world capital of technological innovation

BStartup will once again take part in the Valencia Digital Summit, sponsored by Startup Valencia, which will be held in Ciutat de les Ciències i les Arts from October 24-26.

With the slogan ‘Inspire a Good Future’, Valencia Digital Summit 2022 will show how technology, innovation and digitalization are building a better future and why they are essential to address the key social and economic challenges facing society.

In this fifth edition, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to show their projects to more than 10,000 people from 35 different countries expected this year. The event will feature more than 300 presentations by well-known international and national leaders. It will also bring together more than 150 institutions and more than 1,500 startups.

At this meeting, attendees will be able to enjoy the exhibition spaces where the latest technological developments, trends and breakthrough products are presented through interactive experiences. During the event, BStartup’s event will have the meeting point at the BStartup booth, where the team from the BStartup office in Valencia will advise on financing and banking investment in ventures participating in VDS, and the Dcycle and offUgo startups will also be present, invested by BStartup.

As part of the official content program, BStartup Investment Manager Marta Campillo will attend the Is (still) Worth Investing in Technology Summit Phase on Tuesday, 25th, where she will reflect the state of investment in the industry. And on Tuesday, 25th at 13:00 in the Ecosystem Stage, BStartup Consultant Ángel Buigues will share his best advice and learnings with other representatives of the national ecosystem in the “Best tips after years of investing” panel.
